We wanted to recognize our Cougar Grit award winners for the last two months. These students are recognized because they put in so much extra time and effort into their school work as well as thier extracurricular activities. These students can often be seen after practice or on their days off putting in extra time working to improve thier skills. Tylenn had a great season in volleyball. Tracy helped lead the girls soccer team to their first ever win in the district tournament. Bryan Bushman was named the player of the year in the Mountian River Conference for soccer. Beau Ashcraft placed 4th at the cross country state tournament, where he set a new school record with an amazing time of 15 minutes and 54 seconds. We are proud of these student athletes and want them to be recognized for all of their extra time and effort that that put in. #ITSAGREATDAYTOBEACOUGAR

Hello Parents!

As we approach next semester, if you have a student who is interested in taking online classes next semester, please get in touch with the online administrator Marilee Wigginton, or talk to one of the school counselors so they can be added to the online roster for the second semester. Being in an online class currently does not automatically mean they will be next semester. We need to hear from you.

NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH WEEK 2025. Balanced nutrition throughout the day contributes to student success in and out of the classroom. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) offers students fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and fat free or low fat milk with every school lunch. Updated federal nutrition standards also ensure these meals are within age-appropriate calorie levels and limit both unhealthy fats and sodium.

President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

NSLW is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the vital role that school meals play in nourishing students across the country.

NSLW highlights the hard work and dedication of school nutrition professionals who provide healthy, delicious, and affordable meals every day, ensuring students have the fuel they need to learn and thrive.

NSLW is also a great time to remember that balanced, affordable, and delicious meals are available every day in our cafeterias.

Ms. Davis' Floral Science class last year designed some ideas for this front bed. This year, her Floral & Horticulture Science class spent a week learning how to properly put together a plant bed. With two layers of weed fabric, we're optimistic this bed will look great for years to come! (Pic is missing a few good helpers because of homecoming day festivities).

The one-way lane in front of the high school ends at a Left Turn Only and Right Turn Only intersection. We are taking steps to improve signage and road markings to make this clearer. For everyone's safety, please remember not to turn left if you are in the right-hand lane and vice-versa.

🚌 Please also remember to give our school buses room to pull out from the bus lane into the left-turn lane as they are leaving the school. Your patience and courtesy help keep traffic flowing smoothly and our students safe.

Thank you for your cooperation!
